Located along the St.Croix and Kettle Rivers this is one of Minnesota's largest state parks. The park features numerous trails and camping facilities, including 13 sites only reachable by canoe.

Banning State Park is located along the Kettle River near the city of Sandstone but off the Askov exit from Hwy. I-35. The river in this area features white water that attracts canoe and kayak enthusiasts from all over the state.
