Tourism
We invite you to experience all the things that Pine City has to offer.  Nestled between Pokegama Lake and Cross Lake, Pine City offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.  Visit the historic downtown on the Snake River, one of the 11 city parks or any of the other places of interest.  Robinson Park in Downtown Pine City is home to the annual "Art in the Park" concert series every Friday evening throughout the summer and the Pine County Fairgrounds is a popular destination from April to October for the Wednesday morning flea market.

Step back into history and experience the adventures of the Fur Traders of the 1800s at the North West Company Fur Post.  Located just west of Pine City, the Fur Post offers visitors an authentic reconstruction of a wintering post on its original site.  Enjoy guided tours or one of the many special programs offered each month including the widely attended Fall Gathering in September

Cross LakeThe one-room school is a thing of the past, except here in Pine City.  Just north of US Bank off of Highway 324 as you enter the city, the Rural School Museum stands in all her glory.  Each summer local students are selected to participate in learning about school as it was in the 1900’s.  For one week students dress in period clothing and learn about what school was like at the turn of the century, enjoying outdoor games like ‘Red Rover’, learning embroidery, quilting and more.  The museum opens to the public on Memorial Day each year and visitors can tour the museum on Saturdays and Sundays from Noon – 3PM through Labor Day.  Special appointments are also available by contacting John & Carol Skluzacek at 320-629-3567.

North of Pine City is Grand Casino Hinckley where you can enjoy their large gaming area along with headliner entertainment.

Lakes
Pine City is located along the Snake River which connects Pokegama Lake and Cross Lake.  Public access to all three of these waterways can be obtained at the Snake River Boat Landing on the north side of Pine City along Highway 61.  In the spring and summer this is a convenient access for both boaters and canoeists that enjoy navigating the waters.  Pine County has 82 lakes of various sizes located primarily within the county. You can find infomation about all Minnesota lakes by using the DNR Lake Finder.

Parks

Although Pine County is host to St. Croix State Park, one of the largest state parks in Minnesota, outdoor enthusiasts are often charmed by the special appeal that the Chengwatana Forest has to offer as well.  Located just east of Pine City via County Road 8, 10 or 14, the Chengwatana State Forest boasts three rivers flowing through it’s 29,000 acres of land.  For those that enjoy the peace of the outdoors, the Snake River Campground is located near the entrance to trail systems that allow access to Chengwatana.  Campsites are available on a first-come, first serve basis and more information can be obtained through State Park Reservation System.  Other state parks located within Pine County include, St. Croix State Park and Banning State Park.
