City staff met with regional coordinators for the 2020 Census Day coming on April 1, 2020. The Decennial Census is the once-a-decade population and housing count of all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Island Areas as required by the US Constitution. The results of the decennial census determine the number of seats for each state in the U.S. House of Representatives and are used to draw congressional and state legislative districts and to distribute more than $675 billion in federal funds each year.
The U.S. Census Bureau utilizes local volunteers to help conduct the official counts and are beginning recruitment efforts for the 2020 Census Team now. View the flyer below for more information or visit their website to apply at 2020census.gov/jobs
