City Seeks Community Input for Inclusive Playground Suvery

Share Your Opinion: Inclusive Park Survey – Respond by January 10

The City of Pine City, along with local civic organizations (like the Lions clubs), are looking into making one of the existing parks within the City, an inclusive park. We invite everyone who may use, know people who may use, or have the desire to provide their expertise and thoughts so that we can create something that will be cost effective, sustainable and attractive.
Follow this link to complete a very short survey. We want as much input as possible, prior to the next meeting on January 10, 2019, so please encourage your family, friends and neighbors to complete the survey.

What is an inclusive play park?

Inclusive play parks are thoughtfully designed to provide a safe place where children of all abilities can play together, and are developmentally appropriate for children with and without disabilities. An inclusive playground takes away the barriers to exclusion, both physical and social, providing a “sensory rich” experience for all.  Sensory play playgrounds attract children and encourage exploration and discovery, and provide a “just-right” experience for those seeking sensory stimulation. An inclusive playground is sometime synonymous with a universal/accessible playground, however by being an inclusive play park, it is all-encompassing.
